Accessibility
The house is designed to meet as many people’s accessibility needs as possible.
A large level parking space is available in front of the gîte.
The ground floor is fully accessible to wheelchair users and people with difficulty walking: there are no steps, the rooms are large, and the furniture (including in the kitchen and bathroom) is adapted. A double ramp is provided for the first-floor staircase. Access to the large patio is also completely level.
The height of the table can be adjusted if necessary.
Special equipment (e.g. medical bed, chairlift) can be rented from the orthopaedist and delivered if necessary. The house is accessed with a door code, so we can arrange for the equipment to be delivered and installed before your arrival.
For people who are deaf or hard of hearing, the doorbell and fire alarms are equipped with a flashing light (available on request). The owner is proficient in LSFB (French Belgian Sign Language) and can be reached via WhatsApp if needed.
For visually impaired people, the house is equipped with high-contrast switches, sockets and door frames.
For blind people, we have chosen appliances with physical buttons where possible (gas cooker, oven and microwave, and partially the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer).
All accessibility information is available on the Access-i website.
